Interests and expertise Medical products manufacturing, regulatory affairs, biomedical engineering Career Frank Freedman has been a leader in biomedical manufacturing for more than 30 years. In 1969 he co-founded SciMed Life Systems and directed the company's research and development of acute respiratory failure and open-heart surgery products. He moved to Medtronic in 1976 where he worked as regulatory affairs manager, program manager for new pacing lead products, director of clinical evaluation, and corporate consultant. In 1983, he moved to Dacomed Inc. to become its director of clinical and regulatory affairs. He founded Alliancz Medical Consultants in 1983 and serves as its principal consultant. Freedman holds four patents and several copyrights, and is the author of many publications. He is a member of the American Society of Artificial Internal Organs and is a frequent lecturer at Medical Alley functions as well as at St. Thomas.
