Educational options of the School of Engineering are designed to meet the diverse needs of industry and the busy individuals we serve. From short courses to masters degrees, our programs represent accessible and career-related learning opportunities for individuals seeking personal, educational and professional development.
Courses, certificates and degree programs offer flexible alternative means by which students can improve their careers by building skills, gaining knowledge and broadening their perspectives. Rigorous and respected, our degree programs are designed to produce graduates with the knowledge, creativity, courage and integrity to be leaders in their fields.

At our St. Paul Campus we offer:
  • Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • Masters degrees in Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MMSE), Manufacturing Systems (MSMS), Technology Management (MSTM) and Systems Engineering (MSYE)
  • Certificate programs in materials science, quality, product development, engineering management, manufacturing management, medical device manufacturing and medical product clinical studies
With the active participation of an Industry Advisory Board composed of representatives from area manufacturing and engineering companies and with an assessment and continuous improvement process based on Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) criteria, St. Thomas programs feature:
  • a values-based education emphasizing global issues, ethics and leadership
  • an emphasis on current real-world applications
  • a multidisciplinary approach to engineering courses
  • instructors with extensive industrial experience
  • extensive use of field visits and experienced guest lecturers
  • flexible course sequencing in graduate programs 
  • evening and weekend class times
