Writing Course Available for the Fall

EDLD 802 -- Communication Skills

This class will focus on enhancing your verbal and written communication skills. It is individually tailored so that you will become knowledgeable about developing your communication skills in your personal and professional environments. Additionally, you will be given the opportunity to work on your dissertation proposals, dissertation chapters, master's project and other major assignments for your degree program. There will be face to face to meetings as well as online engagement during this class.

Seminars

The Research Center will offer a series of seminars on relevant writing topics. These sessions will be presented by the School of Education faculty, library professionals and LifeWork center. These topics will include:

  • APA style
  • Literature review
  • RefWorks
  • Tips for effective writing
  • Resume writing

Dissertation Writing Clinics

The Graduate Writing and Research Center will offer dissertation writing clinics with award winning educator and St. Thomas professor Dr. Eleni Roulis. Students are invited to bring in their dissertations for review. 

Clinics are conducted in small groups and will last two hours. Space is limited. Students interested in participating should contact Susan Melvin.
