Graduate Diversity Tuition Scholarship

The University of St. Thomas College of Applied Professional Studies (CAPS) is offering graduate students in the School of Education and the Graduate School of Professional Psychology an opportunity to apply for a Graduate Diversity Tuition Scholarship. CAPS offer a limited amount of tuition assistance each semester to students of color who demonstrate financial need.

Eligibility

  • Be a student of color in a CAPS graduate degree program;
  • Be a student in good academic standing (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above);
  • Be a US Citizen or eligible non-citizen (according to FAFSA guidelines);
  • File a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the academic year, if applicable.

Each School of Education department and the Graduate School of Professional Psychology have funds available and determine their scholarship recommendation procedures.  A scholarship recipient may receive a maximum of $3,000 per fiscal year or $1,000 per term.  The UST Financial Aid office applies the award to a student’s tuition statement at the beginning of the term. Student registration is required for the term in which the scholarship is awarded. If a “hold” appears on a student’s record, the award cannot be allocated. Scholarships are not automatically renewable. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA to continue receiving scholarships.

Following University registration policy, students dropping their term course(s) or withdrawing from St. Thomas, will forfeit all or a portion of their term’s scholarship award.
