School of Education introduces newly revised Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction

MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of St. Thomas is at the forefront of teacher graduate education with the School of Education’s newly revised Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. This program implements the importance of continuously changing classrooms as students are prepared to create and advance an effective curriculum.

A Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction requires students to enroll in seven core courses but is personalized by earning one of five certificate specializations: Learning Technology; Reading with an Elementary or Secondary Focus; Gifted, Creative and Talented Education; Multicultural Education; or Advanced Curriculum Design for the Differentiated Classroom.

This newly revised program will leave students prepared to pursue National Board Certification as they become leaders in progressive education as curriculum directors, assessment coordinators or innovative classroom teachers. The University of St. Thomas understands the importance of technology in a learning environment as students are simultaneously building an electronic portfolio as they learn how to incorporate these technologies into their own classroom environments.

The University of St. Thomas invites students to be apart of this exciting modernization to an already trusted and respected program that has helped build outstanding instructional leaders for more than 25 years. Courses start fall 2007.
