E-Learning: Current Practices and Future Trends

E-learning has become an important part of human resource development strategies of virtually all major U.S. corporations, and is becoming an increasingly popular training delivery option in government and non-profit sectors. Currently e-learning takes the form of courses of various length, as well as shorter modules and small learning objects, incorporates synchronous or asynchronous access and interaction, and is most often distributed geographically. It depends primarily on the Internet, computer networks and personal computers. However, in the near future it is likely to evolve into a much more flexible and all-encompassing system, based on a variety of new channels, technologies, knowledge and learning paradigms. This session will include:

      • An interactive overview of current e-learning practices and tools
      •  An update on industry spending on e-learning and e-learning growth in various sectors of industry, government, and non-profit organizations
      • A look at future trends and technologies
