Conference sessions are an hour and fifteen minutes. Symposia presenters will be allowed the entire session to present, while individual presentations and works-in-progress will be grouped with one or two similar presentations.
Proposal submission deadline is February 1, 2008. All presenters that are submitting proposals must also register for the conference. Registration is required as part of proposal submission.
Individual papers comprise the majority of presenter submissions. Original works in the form of dissertations, grants, and project-based research, highlighting qualitative methodology, are sought. Presentations must be limited to a maximum of 15-20 minutes and not reliant on technological assistance, although power point equipment is generally available.
A symposium is a collaboration of people focused on a common theme or idea in an interactive format with the audience. Presentations can include either a group of individuals having worked together on a specific research topic or a group of separate presenters having conducted research individually on the same topic. Consistent audience interaction is encouraged along with time for questions and discussion at the end of the presentations.
Works-in-progress, either individual papers or symposia, can be submitted for presentation. Partially completed dissertation research, grant supported studies or faculty research are welcomed submissions in this category.
Poster Session
Posters can be submitted for presentation in correlation with these criteria. The entire poster must be mounted on a 40" x 60" foam-core board and the board must be oriented in the "portrait" position. A banner displaying your poster title, name and acedemic or institution department should be positioned at top-center of the board. Also make it obvious to the viewer how to progressively view the poster, the poster generally should read from left to right, and top to bottom. In addition leave some open space in the design. An open layout is less tiring to the eye and mind. Be prepared for a 45-minute visual presentation of the research study, findings, and implications. Presenters will accompany the poster, with conference participants having opportunities for dialogue and personal interaction with the presenter(s) regarding their study.
Your poster can be shipped in advance to:
