K-12 Teaching Licensure

If you are interested in teaching music, physical education, world languages, or theatre and dance you can major in a K-12 education area. The K-12 education students co-major in K-12 education and one K-12 academic discipline. 

What the Program Offers

  • Licensure in K-12 Teaching
  • Concerns for diversity and equity throughout the required teacher education courses
  • Preparation to fulfill the standards and related proficiencies for entry-level Minnesota teachers as established by the Minnesota Department of Education
  • Classes held in Minneapolis 
  • Classes meet in the evening hours
  • Adviser always available
  • Rolling admission
  • Three semesters – fall, spring, summer
