Undergraduate Programs
Be a Teacher

The School of Education offers a full range of undergraduate teacher licensures. K-12, elementary, middle and secondary programs include the opportunity to co-major in a field within the arts and sciences. These standards-based programs embrace liberal arts, emphasize ethical practice and prepare reflective educators dedicated to the success of all learners.

The elementary co-major satisfies requirements for a Minnesota elementary teaching license with a middle level specialty area.

Teacher Education Initial Licensures include:

K-8 Licenses

• Elementary (K-6) with Communication Arts and Literature (5-8)
• Elementary (K-6) with General Science (5-8)
• Elementary (K-6) with Mathematics (5-8)
• Elementary (K-6) with Science and Mathematics (5-8) (SMEE)
• Elementary (K-6) with Social Studies (5-8)
• Elementary (K-6) with World Language/Culture (French, German, and Spanish - K-8)

5-12 Licenses

• Chemistry (9-12) with General Science (5-8)
• Communication Arts and Literature (5-12)
• Earth/Space Science (9-12) with General Science (5-8)
• Health Education (5-12)
• Life Science (9-12) with General Science (5-8)
• Mathematics (5-12)
• Physics (9-12) with General Science (5-8)
