Editing Text

PDF: Maintaining Consistent Formatting While Editing Text

This video shows you how to avoid the incorrect formatting that results from copying and pasting text directly from a Word document or web site into your portfolio. A solution is to paste the text from Word into an intermediary program such as Notepad to remove the formatting and then to re-copy the text from Notepad and paste it into the portfolio editor.

[Note: If you are using a Mac you would use a program called TextEdit rather than notepad, which is found inside the Applications folder.]

Public Permissions

The second video deals with a very important component of the portfolio - adding public permissions to all artifacts.  Every file that is linked in your portfolio page should have the permissions set to "public".  The following video will show you how to make sure that is the case for each embedded file.  This is vital to make sure that our all of the systems related to the portfolio run smoothly.
