Field Experience Placement Instructions

Important Information Needed to Log-in:

You will need to provide your St. Thomas username and password to access the Field Experience placement system. If you do not know your username and password, visit the IRT help desk FAQ for instructions on how to receive that information.

When you are asked to provide your username and password, depending on which browser you use, you may see a box asking for your domain. If you see this box, enter "UST".

If you do not see a box asking for your domain and entering your correct username and password does not allow you into the system, enter "UST\" followed immediately by your username in the username box (UST\username).

If you access the internet through America Online (AOL), you will not be able to log in using the AOL browser. You can, however, use Internet Explorer through AOL.

Once You Are Logged-on:

After you enter your username and password, you will be taken to a screen where you can view a list of all available placement options. Use the pull-down menu to select how you would like to sort the list.

Review the list and click on the name of the teacher with whom you would like to work.

Once you have selected a teacher, you will be taken to a page displaying contact information for your field experience. You will have an option to keep, change or delete your selection.

If you select "keep," contact information for your placement will be displayed anytime you return to the Field Experience Placement page. You may change or delete your selection at any time.

You may not have more than one active selection at a time. If you change your selection, your name will be disassociated from your previous selection.

Once you select a teacher, he or she will no longer be available to other students on the placement options list. If you do not intend on contacting your selected teacher, please select the "delete" option.
