Assessment I: Exploration

Licensure Program Orientation Sessions:

Pre-register and Attend one Licensure Program Orientation. Orientation will include:

  • Program Overview
  • Mission/Dispositions
  • Field Experience Overview
  • Diverse Field Experience Reflection
  • Standards of Effective Practice (SEP)
  • Content area standards
  • Educator Development Plan (EDP)
  • Program Portfolio; initiate Blackboard site
  • Intro to STAT: initiate Program Plan
  • Praxis I and II information

Assessment II : Learning and Teaching

Professional Development Interview/Portfolio Sessions:

Pre-register and Complete a Professional Development Interview

  • Personal interview with advocate; guide sheet for preparation will be provided
  • Participate in a Portfolio Development Session
  • Session will include refining narratives, building the artifact collection, writing the rationale for evidencing competencies

Assessment III :  Curriculum and Instruction

Program Portfolio Review and Presentation:

Pre-register and submit Blackboard Portfolio

  • Teacher Candidates submit the Blackboard Portfolio for final review prior to Clinical Practice
  • Due dates are August 1 for Fall candidates and January 1 for Spring candidates
  • Submit portfolio to 9tereview using Blackboard Portfolio “Share with Users”
  • Candidates present the portfolio during Clinical Practice Orientation days

Assessment IV: Clinical Practice/License Recommendation

Teacher Candidate Work Sample (TCWS):

Pre-register and attend Clinical Practice/TCWS Orientation

  • Teacher Candidates entering Clinical Practice will be introduced to the Teacher Candidate Work Sample
  • The TCWS will be reviewed as part of the final recommendation for state licensure
