Institute of Energetics:

Energetics and Organization Development

Application form

University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis, Minn.

People have worked with energy for healing for millennia.  Today, the blending of understanding from quantum mechanics, energy medicine and alternative healing practices has led us to new and valuable possibilities: the application of energetics in working with groups and organizations.

What is energetics? Energetics involves application of the knowledge supplied by quantum physics and some ancient traditions to promote individual and organizational healing.  Energetics deals with the subtle energy fields that underlie physical objects and events.  Working with subtle energies creates the possibility of

§    Understanding self more holistically, resulting in healing and wholeness

§    Working more efficiently with groups and individuals

§    Leading more effective organizational interventions

The program  Presented in a workshop format, each session consists of one week on-campus with faculty, followed by three weeks of guided virtual learning and practice.  The workshop is derived from three graduate courses in energetics and OD taught at the University of St. Thomas.  It takes time and practice to master the skills of energetics and integrate them as part of a practitioner’s tool kit.  The goal for the on-line portio0n of the class is to give students daily access to faculty to discuss specific issues as they arise.

The schedule

Session 1:  On campus June 15 – 19, 2009.  On-line sessions through July 10.

Session 2:  On campus July 13 – 17, 2009.  On-line sessions through August 7.

What is provided?

§         Faculty experienced in training practitioners in energetics

§         Course materials

§         Lunch each day

§         Six weeks of on-line consultation

§         Individual coaching sessions, as needed, to help students process course material

§         Certificate of attendance

Who should attend?  This summer institute is designed for practitioners who have experience in OD, executive coaching or human resources who are open to new ideas and who desire to explore the cutting edge in which new science and ancient traditions are blended to create a unique practice.

What are the benefits?  After this program, you will have acquired unique skills to help you become a whole person and a better reflective practitioner.  Former students have found numerous benefits which can be clustered into three groups:

§         Self: Better understanding of self, ability to monitor and change one’s energetic state.  Healing occurs as a by-product of these skills.

§         Personal and professional relationships: The ability to understand others and read information beyond the physical plane leads to better relationships in personal and professional circles.

§         Professional Growth: Graduates are more effective professionals due to their ability to discern the energy state of groups and organizations and work with subtle energies.  The ability to work with organizational energy planes leads to interventions in which the practitioner creates an environment that is more conducive to change.

Alla Heorhihadi, Ph.D., Ed.D., teaches in the Organizational Learning & Development department at the University of St. Thomas.  She has a Ph.D. in economics and an Ed.D. in organizational development.  She was trained in energetics at the School of Energetic and Informational Development in St. Petersburg, Russia, and has conducted energetic interventions with individuals and groups for more than 10 years.

John Conbere, Ed.D., is an associate professor and chair of the Organizational Learning & Development department at the University of St. Thomas.  He has an Ed.D. in human resource development, a M.Ed. in training and development and an MDiv.  He has been using energetics in his consulting for the past three years.
