The Institute of Energetics brings world leaders recognized for their work and contributions in mind, body, and spiritual wellness to speak and teach about topics in integrative holistic practices. The Institute's faculty and honored guest speakers share multiple years of practical experience, research, and applied knowledge, and experience to the Institute.
Alla Heorhihadi, PhD, EdD is founder and director of the Institute of Energetics. Dr. Heorhiadi received her formal training in energetics through the School of Energetic and Informational Development, St. Petersburg, Russia and honed her skills through working with patients in a tandem with a traditional medical doctor. Being an energetic practitioner for more than 13 years and applying energetics concepts to individuals, groups and organizations, she developed a sequence of courses in which students learn how to work with subtle energies. These knowledge and skills appear to be helpful not only in professional and personal development but also in taking individuals to an absolutely different epistemological level of life.
The heart of the Energetics is the dual focus on understanding the underlying premises of energetics, as well as mastering new skills. Because the premises are not part of the traditional western world view, students go through a huge transformation about the nature of the universe with the help of both eastern philosophies and quantum physics which, in turn, leads to their new understanding. Dr. Heorhiadi likes to say that Energetics does not stop with the end of classes; energetics is a life style. Her graduates absolutely agree with this. They state that they cannot imagine their life and work without energetics.
Dr. Conbere, Organization Development professor and consultant, believes that the Institute for Energetics offers an approach, based in research, to using subtle energies to better understand oneself, and to improve one’s effectiveness in organizational consulting.
Partly this belief comes from the OD concept of self-as-instrument. As OD consultants, we are the instruments through which change happens. The more we know ourselves, the more effective our work will be. What does knowing self involve? It includes being aware of one’s feelings, hopes and fears. It also includes being able to monitor ourselves, looking at our physical bodies for symptoms of inner health or dis-ease. We can learn to read subtle energies, which manifest our inner state, and thus have new tools to be able to explore what lies beyond our consciousness.
So what are subtle energies? They are aspects of energy, subject to the laws of physics, and described in the study of the subatomic world in quantum mechanics. Until the advent of quantum mechanics we have not had theory or instruments to identify and describe subtle energies.
Reading the energy plane of another person, a group, or an organization provides the consultant with a new set of tools for organizational diagnosis. Dr. Conbere believes that many experienced consultants learn to read subtle energy signs intuitively, without knowing theory and without ability to pass on the knowledge. Having a discipline through which consultants can learn to read what is happening beyond the surface of the group is extremely useful.
The Institute of Energetics is located on the Minneapolis campus of the University of St. Thomas. In the heart of downtown Minneapolis, the Institute is within walking distance from hotels, restaurants and is 20 minutes from the Minneapolis-St.Paul airport via the light rail transit system.
