Certificate in Human Resource Management

Timetable for Graduate Study
When Typically 1 evening per week. Start in the fall or spring semester.
Location Downtown Minneapolis campus.
Average Program Length Typically 1-2 years. Maximum of 7 years for completion.
Course Credits Majority are 3 credits per course. Typically 1-2 courses per semester.
Total Program Credits 21 credits.
Credit Limit Maximum of 10 credits per fall or spring semester and 7 credits per summer semester.

 

As another option, you may apply with non-degree status. Non-degree students may take up to six semester credits without being fully admitted as a degree- or certificate-seeking student. Those credits will transfer in when you are fully admitted.

This certificate program includes six courses and one internship. In addition to the course work, each certificate requires a 200-hour, on-the-job application project that synthesizes course outcomes.

Learning options for earning a certificate:

  • A stand-alone credential.
  • Pursue the master of arts degree and a certificate concurrently.
  • Complete a certificate after earning the Master of Arts in Human Resource and Change Leadership.
  • Coursework taken for the master’s may be used to meet certificate requirements if taken within seven years of when the certificate is awarded.
  • If you are admitted into a certificate program, you may transfer without penalty to the master’s program
