Assistantships and Paid Internships
Assistantships and paid internships generally require 20 hours per week for one academic year. Institutions will provide a remuneration package for each graduate position of approximately $10,000 annually. Remuneration packages may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following options:
- Stipend
- Housing accommodations
- Food service privileges
- Health insurance benefits
- Professional development opportunities
Unpaid Internships
Unpaid internships can vary in hours per week and the duties involved. Some institutions will assign a specific project for students during their term, while other institutions will have students assist in the day-to-day operations of the department. Students will work with their supervisor to design an internship experience beneficial to their career goals.
