Graduate Assistant: Student Activities & Leadership Development

General Description: The primary responsibilities will be in programming and leadership development.  The position will work with a newly formed student group to develop a late-night, weekend programming.  The position will also work as part of a team responsible for the creation of a comprehensive leadership development program.   

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Previous undergraduate experience in student activities/programming.

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy, an attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

 

 

Responsibilities:

·        Supervise campus events as needed, including some nights and weekend.

·        Serve on the Leadership Development Planning Team assisting with leadership programs across campus.

·        Assist in the coordination of Parent & Family Weekend.

·        Help coordinate programs for commuter and transfer students.

·        Attend Student Affairs division meetings.

·        Attend staff meetings and hold regular posted office hours

·        All other duties as assigned.

 

Hours
 It is a full time (20 hours a week) position, with the understanding that some weeks require more hours than others.

 

 

Immediate Supervisor
The graduate assistantship reports to the Director of Student Activities

 

 

Compensation/remuneration

Salary:  $10,000 stipend for the year

 

 

 

The Office of Student Activities & Leadership Development strives to foster personal and community development that promotes learning, develops talents, and prepares students to become active members and leaders of their communities.  We work with student organizations and provide a variety of programs and leadership initiatives throughout the year.
