Select, train, supervise and evaluate 4 Apartment
Coordinators
·
Schedule and facilitate weekly business staff
meetings
·
Meet with student staff in individual one to one
supervisory meetings
·
Provide the staff with performance evaluations
once each semester; provide feedback on a regular, on-going basis
·
Participate in the student leader selection
process
·
Assist in the implementation of leadership
training opportunities including the Fall and Spring Leadership Institutes,
Leadership Seminars, and departmental training sessions
·
Provide regular training for the building staff,
based on that staff’s particular interest and needs
·
Serve as resources to staff so they may explore
independent staff development opportunities
·
Advise hall council; promote programming efforts through the council
·
Club advising
·
Act as a resource for students seeking assistance in resolving and/or
community-related conflicts
·
Advise students with personal concerns, or refer them to other
appropriate campus resources for assistance
·
Respond to crisis situations involving individual students or groups of
students
·
Develop working relationship with counseling center liaison
·
To establish an expectation and atmosphere among staff members which
promotes community and individual learning
·
Initiate, coordinate, and facilitate community, educational, and
developmental programs within the hall using the program model developed by
·
Collaborate with hall chaplain to promote and coordinate faith
development programming within the hall
·
Facilitate the development of community agreements within each residence
floor
·
Maintain accurate and current records on programs
·
Act as the institutional representative in explaining and interpreting
university and residence hall policies and procedures
·
Act as the initial hearing officer for student conduct matters within
the hall and assign appropriate sanctions
·
Maintain accurate and current records on students with behavior problems
·
Coordinate the completion of various administrative tasks within the
building, including room and floor condition reports, work orders, room
changes, and hall openings and closings
·
Act as the hall liaison to the physical plant and building service
workers; monitor building service worker performance within the building
·
Act as hall liaison to public safety office
·
Act as the campus-wide supervisory staff member "on-duty"
during scheduled evenings and weekends
·
Advise Operations Manager on the operation of the service desk operation
within the building; to supervise approximately ten student desk employees,
develop policies and procedures, monitor overall operations
·
Supervise and advise operations manager on monitoring night access and
guest registration procedures.
·
Develop, monitor and evaluate staff individual and hall-wide annual goal
statements
This .5 FTE position includes
