General Information

The Office of Campus Life within the Department of Campus & Residence Life, provides undergraduate student’s opportunities to impact the University community while enhancing their educational experience through co-curricular involvement. Such opportunities include clubs and organizations, St. Thomas Activities and Recreation (STAR) programming board, spirit initiatives, and the All College Council (ACC).

 

The Office is committed to mentoring, supporting and encouraging the professional development of students within the Master of Arts, Leadership in Student Affairs program at the University of St. Thomas.  The Leadership Development Graduate Position is available during the fall, January Term and spring semesters of the academic year.

 

Position Description

 

Job responsibilities:

Koch Commons Desk Supervisor

Work with the Brady Operations Manager to hire, train and supervise student workers at the Koch Commons Desk; with support from the Box Office, incorporate the selling and tracking of sales of movie tickets; work to include possible ticket sales for other events with help from the Box Office; provide direction to offer other commodities available from the Koch Desk; incorporate the use of the computer into daily Koch Desk functions; create/update a student worker manual that can be used for future Koch Desk workers.

 

Program Resource Room Manager

Assist with managing the Program Resource Room which includes hiring and training student workers; meeting with student workers regularly; serving as a supervisor to the student workers; keeping track of supplies and the organization of the room; providing insight into what other resources could be available to students; helping to promote the resources available to all students; helping to develop the Resource Room located on South Campus; etc.

 

Supporting Responsibilities

  • Attend regular Campus & Residence Life meetings
  • Hosting Homecoming and/or Spring Fling Dance
  • Serving on a Campus Life Committees that plan leadership opportunities for students

 

 

Qualifications: 

Qualifications of viable candidates include present enrollment in the Master of Arts, Leadership in Student Affairs program at the University of St. Thomas.  Preferred qualifications include:  strong organizational skills, experience planning programs and advising student organizations, ability to work with diverse groups of students and staff, and ability to take initiative to build relationships within the St. Thomas community. Experience with Microsoft Office products including Access Database is a plus.

Compensation/remuneration

Salary:  Remuneration package for the GSE consists of a $10,000 stipend per academic year, paid on a biweekly basis for the duration of their employment.
