The Learning Technology Program’s balance between educational theories related to technology and practical application of technology tools allowed me to create technology-integrated lessons across the curriculum. The success that I had integrating technology into my lessons led me to share my experience with my fellow educators. After graduating from the Learning Technology Program, I became the webmaster for my school, coordinated technology-learning opportunities for other educators, facilitated technology integrated at the A.T.L.A.S. Academy, and served as the technology integration specialist at my school. "The Learning Technology Program at St. Thomas is the perfect opportunity to learn how to incorporate technology into any classroom. The program and instructors allowed me to tailor my learning to the students in my classroom and gave me the knowledge and confidence to try new things. The children in our schools are using technology in their everyday life whether they learn it at school or not. Giving them opportunities to learn how to utilize it will only increase their abilities and potential. I am now teaching technology full time and I love how excited the students are to come to my class. "I had started several technology programs through other colleges, but did not continue because the programs focused on technology or education. The Learning Technology Program was the only program I found that focused on technology integration, current technology, and current research. As a fifth grade and technology teacher, I was comfortable with technology and used it frequently with my students. The Learning Technology Program has provided me with a strong background in current research and technology trends, so I can truly integrate technology into my lessons. I have used the knowledge I gained through the Learning Technology program to start a digital photography class, a digital story telling class, and live video announcements at my school. I have also used information from my course work to present at TIES and several district trainings, and recently used my masters degree in Learning Technology to obtain a Technology Coordinator position."
