How many credits does it take to earn the doctorate in critical pedagogy?

66 semester credits - 48 core, 9 elective and 9 dissertation credits

How long will it take to complete the coursework and dissertation project?

Students can complete the coursework and dissertation project in four years, but they make take up to seven years to complete the program.

Where do classes meet?

Classes meet in Opus Hall at the University of St. Thomas downtown Minneapolis campus. 

When do classes meet?

During fall and spring semesters, classes meet in a weekend class format, four weekends each semester. In the summer, cohorts meet in a two-week class session on campus. See scheduling. 

What is the cohort size?

Each cohort has up to 26 students. 

How many credits can be transferred into the program?

A maximum of nine semester graduate credits can be transferred into the program, with doctoral program director permission.
