Certificate in Reading
Improving Elementary and Secondary Reading

This program with an elementary or secondary focus can help you improve your students’ reading ability.

It will help you: 

  • Learn effective, advanced strategies for improving language and literacy skills.
  • Study leading-edge reading research, theory and practice to apply in your classroom.
  • Develop literacy strategies, reading skills, comprehension processes and assessment, and remediation

Once you have completed the 12-credit certificate, all credits will apply toward the 18 credit Master of Arts Reading/K-12 Reading Endorsement. This endorsement is required for all reading teachers by Sept. 1, 2006.
