A learning technologies certificate will help you:

  • Use current learning theory, instructional principles, and research and assessment practices to apply technologies to curriculum areas.
  • Use computers for problem solving, data collection, information management, communications, presentations and decision-making.
  • Design student-learning activities integrating technologies for a variety of student grouping strategies and for diverse populations.
  • Demonstrate skills for using productivity tools, desktop publishing, databases, presentation, Web design, image editing, video production, multimedia and electronic portfolio.

Cohort-based Program

The learning technologies program is a "closed cohort" model. Students proceed through the program as a group with course meetings online or in an accelerated, evening and weekend schedule. A certain number of qualified applicants are required before a cohort will start.

Master's Degree Foundation

Credits may be transferred into the St. Thomas Master of Arts in Learning Technology or Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction programs.
