1. Who should participate in the E-Learning certificate program?
This program is designed for a broad audience with customizable content modules to meet the needs of professionals in various disciplines. The target participants are:

  • K-12 educators
  • Virtual School teachers
  • Corporate trainer

  • E-Learning developer
  • Online course developer
  • Higher education faculty
  • Liberians and media specialists

 

2. How long does it take to complete the program?
It usually takes one year with two courses per semester and the capstone Internship project in summer.

 
3. When can I start?
We recommend that you start in fall semester to take the courses in sequence. It is also possible to start in spring and complete the course work in fall.


4. Will a complete novice in technology be able to catch up with the course work in the program?
Differentiated instruction is the main teaching philosophy of the program.  Instructional modules are designed to address the varied learning needs of participants with the goal of maximizing the potential of each learner. Participants can adjust their pace of learning based on their levels of technology competency .


5. Can I develop an internship project with my work?
Yes, definitely. Many participants receive tuition reimbursement through work. Developing an E-Learning project to enhance the productivity of your company or enhance student learning experience at a school could be an option for internship.

 
6. I am not employed. Where can I find an internship position?
We have received requests for interns from Medtronic, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Thrivent, V.A. Hospital, WomenVenture, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. There will be many opportunities to choose from for the internship.


7. Can I transfer the credits into a degree program at the School of Education?
Yes, you can transfer the E-Learning graduate certificate into the MA program in Learning Technology or MA program in Human Resource and Change Leadership. Some graduate credits can also be transferred into a doctoral program with the approval of the doctoral program advisor at the School of Education.


8. What can I do with the certificate?
There is a growing needs for qualified virtual school teachers, online trainers, E-Learning developer, and instructional designer for E-Learning. Receiving an E-Learning certificate will provide you with a more competitive edge in the job market.
