Certificate in E-learning       

The E-Learning Graduate Certificate program prepares educators in K-12 and higher education, as well as corporate and government trainers to become leaders in E-Learning and transform online learning.

Education and training professionals can earn graduate credits and meet the goals of professional development through this five-course (15 credits) program. We have adopted the blended learning approach to accommodate the needs of the geographically-dispersed professionals. Each course meets in person three Saturdays plus online sessions. Students who cannot travel to the Minneapolis campus for the courses can join the class via video-conferencing from the comfort of one’s home or office. 

The program features:

  • Recent trends and research in online teaching and virtual training
  • Evidence-based design principals in online course development
  • Integration with state-of-the-art authoring programs such as Captivate, Lodestar, Flashform, Dreamweaver and Flash
  • E-Learning development
  • Effective instructional strategies for synchronous and asynchronous learning
  • Online community building
  • Implementation of E-Learning with Web2.0 applications
  • Connections with other E-Learning professionals and online educators
  • Seamless integration of course projects with real-world applications
  • Internship opportunity with established organizations such as V.A. Hospital, Medtronic, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Thrivent, WomenVenture, K-16 traditional and virtual schools              

By the end of the program, you will have applied E-Learning theories and strategies into practice and acquired the skills and knowledge to design, implement, and assess online learning programs.
