Race, power and education

Fall 2007 Elective

(CIED 653 -- 3 Credits)

 

This course invites you to explore theoretical frameworks that provide a variety of lenses to examine the impact of race on education in the U.S.  Racial inequalities and divisions within the educational institutions, educational policies and practices will also be examined as you understand the historical foundations of race relations interconnected to gender and class relations as they relate to the schooling process.
