The registration receipt from the registration contact can be used for tax purposes. If you need a duplicate receipt of payment, please contact the registration contact associated with your course(s).

Credit Limit

Students are limited to the number of Graduate Continuing Education for Professional Educator credits per semester that they may pursue. (Students may not register for more than 9 semester credits per fall or spring semester. Students may not register for more than 12 semester credits per summer semester.) Academic partners are responsible to monitor this and advise students about the credit limit.

Credit Value

Graduate continuing education semester credit courses meet requirements for license renewal and may be used for lane changes when prior approval has been obtained by the student from his or her district /employment personnel office.

For Iowa Educators: Continuing education courses offered for graduate credit are not intended to be part of a degree program.

Graduate continuing education credits may apply as transfer credits to St. Thomas graduate degree programs in accordance with the transfer policies of the School of Education. A maximum of six semester hours of graduate continuing education credit, for which a grade of B or above is indicated, may be approved for transfer into a degree program by the dean.
