John M. Harrington

John M. Harrington, chief of police, St. Paul Police Department

Harrington earned a masters of arts in public safety from St. Thomas in 1985. He joined the St. Paul Police Department in 1977 and was named chief in June 2004. He has served as sergeant, lieutenant, senior commander and commander of the city�s Western District during his 27 years with the force. He facilitated the development of the School of Law Enforcement at St. Paul's Metropolitan State University.
