Meal Plan Options

Have questions, or looking for the right meal plan to select? Below you will find the latest information when it comes to selecting the right plan to fit your needs. If you are an on campus student, the office of Residence Life can also assist you further. If you are an off campus student the Card Office can assist you further.

On Campus Student

Students living in a residence hall on campus specify a meal plan through the housing selection process with the Office of Residence Life. Freshmen residents are required to have a meal plan and may choose the Block 150, Block 180, or Block 225 plan. Meal plan availability may be adjusted based on medical documentation through an approval process with Dining Services, learn more here.

  • Freshmen residents are required to have a meal plan and may choose the Block 150, Block 180 or Block 225 plan.
  • Sophomore residents in all halls except Morrison, Flynn, CDC Student Residence, 2085 Grand, or 2151 Grand are required to have a meal plan and may choose the Block 135, Block 150, Block 180 or Block 225 plan.
  • Junior and senior residents of Brady, Cretin, Dowling, Grace, Ireland, John Paul II and Murray Halls are required to have a meal plan and may choose any Resident Meal Plan.
  • If you run out meals you can buy blocks of 20 meals for $185.

Off Campus Student

Students living off campus who wish to purchase a meal plan can visit the Card Office, MHC 101 to purchase a Non-Resident Meal Plan or download one here. Commuter students may choose any meal plan, and can also pay cash or use an eXpress account to dine in any St. Thomas Dining location. Meal plan availability may be adjusted based on medical documentation through an approval process with Dining Services, learn more here.

J - Term

January term meal plan options are separate from the fall and spring semester meal plans. Students may choose any block plan regardless of class standing. The View is open Monday through Friday for lunch and dinner; BINZ, on South Campus, is open seven days a week, including breakfast to meal plan participants, eXpress account, and cash customers. A more specific dining schedule is posted in December for other Dining locations.

  • Meals and flex dollars do not carry over to the next semester.
  • Guest meals are not available with J-Term meal plans, but guests may pay with Flex, eXpress, cash, debit, or credit.

Faculty & Staff

Dining Services offers a meal plan designed specifically for our Faculty and Staff. This provides an economical way to dine in our All-You-Care-To-Eat (AYCTE) environment, as well as an opportunity to engage with our students, fellow faculty and staff, strengthening the University community. Guests are welcome to dine with you using your Faculty/Staff Meal Plan.

The Faculty/Staff Meal Plan is available in blocks of 10 meals at the cost of $70.00.
