Over the years, parents of St. Thomas students have been instrumental in ensuring the success of the university in a variety of ways. Apart from providing moral support and paying for all or part of their children’s tuition, many St. Thomas parents contribute to the university’s Annual Fund or to specific programs.
The St. Thomas Parents Fund is a new means of recognizing and showing appreciation for financial and volunteer support. All parents who make contributions to St. Thomas are recognized as members of the group. A Parents Fund Committee has been established to initiate parent-to-parent contact and to organize parent events throughout the year. Bob ’72 and Mary Satterstrom are co-chairs of the committee, and they welcome the involvement of as many more parents who wish to take part.
Charitable contributions from parents of St. Thomas students and alumni enable the university to improve in many areas, from attracting and retaining high-quality faculty to enhancing library and computer resources; from purchasing new equipment to renovating existing classrooms, athletic facilities and residence halls. Every gift helps to ensure that St. Thomas students have the opportunity to achieve and improve to the best of their abilities.
