Scholarship-recipient testimonials

Many scholarship recipients write thank-you letters to donors of their scholarships. Here are the comments of three students about their scholarship help:

A  sophomore wrote:

"It's been a great freshman year, and I'm glad I chose St. Thomas. Without your assistance, it would have been a real struggle, and perhaps an impossibility, to get the resources to return to St. Thomas next fall. ... I thank you for your generosity. Your support makes my future at St. Thomas possible. I don't know how to thank you enough for that."

A junior wrote:

"Without your generosity I might not be able to attend this wonderful university, where I have not only found a place to get a great education and meet countless people who have touched my life, but where I have found a home. ... Being able to attend the University of St. Thomas, with the help of your generous scholarship, has allowed me to flourish ... . I have been given the opportunity to reach my fullest potential, which will come through two things: hard work and surrounding myself with the right people. At the University of St. Thomas, I can do both of these, and for this I am thankful."

A senior wrote:

"I am the first member of my family to attend a four-year university. This scholarship means a lot to me because next fall I will be participating in the Washington Semester at American University. ... My parents work extremely hard so I am able to attend St. Thomas, and it is an enormous help to receive this scholarship. ... I never thought that I would be able to have some of the opportunities that my education has allowed me, especially being able to go to Washington for a semester. Thank you ... ."
