The University of St. Thomas

Student Legacy Program

Support your class legacy!

Each year, St. Thomas seniors leave a legacy by presenting a class gift to the institution during commencement exercises. Although the Senior Class Gift Committee selects the type of legacy gift that it plans to leave during senior year, fundraising to support the class gift begins three years earlier, through the Student Legacy Program.

As a St. Thomas freshman, sophomore or junior, you have the opportunity to participate in the Student Legacy Program in two ways: join the committee and/or support your class’s fundraising efforts by making a contribution.

Becoming an active member of the Student Legacy Committee requires very little time. The first step is to attend an hour-long Culture of Student Philanthropy meeting, which will answer some common questions about fundraising at St. Thomas: Why do people give money to St. Thomas? How are scholarships at
St. Thomas funded? Who gives money to fund scholarships? Why does St. Thomas have a strong tradition of alumni giving?
