I have had the privilege of being a member of the Development Office team for the University of St. Thomas since 2004. It is humbling to be able to give back to something that I feel has given me so much and has been an important part of my life. I identify with the mission and values of St. Thomas and believe the education and life lessons I received as a student help guide me as an alumnus, professional, husband, and father. In my position as a senior development officer, I am proud to be an ambassador for St. Thomas. I am fortunate to work with alumni, parents, and friends of St. Thomas to find mutually beneficial opportunities to support the university. My responsibilities include working closely with the dean of the Opus College of Business (OCB), established major gifts and scholarships, promoting matching gifts, and building the Next Generation group, an initiative to engage and build a stronger alumni network. Before working at St. Thomas, I was a director at the HealthEast Foundation for four years raising funds to support hospitals and hospice. Prior to that, I was executive director of a nonprofit organization for six years that provided nursing and volunteer services to senior citizens. As a graduate of the class of 1989 with a degree in Political Science, I have fond memories of my time at St Thomas playing baseball and being a part of the Tommie community. I received my master’s degree from Hamline University in public administration with an emphasis in nonprofit administration. A little bit about my personal life: my wife, Kathleen, is a 1992 alumna of St Thomas, and we have twin boys, Aidan and Kieran. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing racquetball, and experiencing the wonderful culture and beauty that the Twin Cities has to offer. I am on the board of directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Minnesota Chapter, past chair of the housing board for Episcopal Homes and currently serve on its development committee. |
