The University of St. Thomas’ Schools of Engineering and Education offer Engineering Education through the Center for Pre-Collegiate Engineering Education (CPCEE). The mission of CPCEE is to prepare future and current P-12 educators to teach engineering and increase their students' technical literacy in an increasing complex world. The Center offers an engineering minor and a graduate certificate in Engineering Education. The classes may be taken as an individual course, as part of the minor/graduate certificate and/or part of the Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. Course materials include an attunement to education standards with a special focus on the Next Generation Science Standards.
To register for the graduate certificate program complete the application available at https://webapp.stthomas.edu/engineering/admissions/app/accountCreation.htm Under "degree level" choose "Certificate" and under "major" choose "Certificate in Engineering for Educators". Please note that a resume is not required, and that we waive the registration fee for this certificate. Use the waiver code "EGED".
Students must complete an application before registering for classes. The Summer 2013 semester application deadline is May 13, 2013. The Fall 2013 semester application deadline is August 9, 2013.
