Counseling and Psychological Services staff conduct alcohol assessments at the request of individual clients. An alcohol assessment includes three 50-minute sessions with a counselor as well as two paper and pencil assessment instruments, which take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. They are the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory and the Alcohol Use Inventory. Although the sessions are free, we do charge $75.00 for computer scoring the assessment instruments. For alcohol assessments, we require 24 hour notice for a cancellation, unless it is an emergency. If you do not keep an appointment without notice, you will be required to complete the assessment off campus.

Since we are not forensic psychologists, we do not conduct court ordered assessments. We can provide referrals to private practitioners who do offer this service.
