UST faculty and staff may consult the following resources to help determine whether their proposed use of copyrighted material complies with Fair Use guidelines:

To help make determinations of  "fair use" of copyrighted materials, guidelines were developed in 1976 by members of the educational community and publishing representatives.  These guidelines provide clarification of the "brevity, spontaneity and cumulative effect" tests, among others.  For more on the 1976 Guidelines:
