Construction vehicles will use Cretin, usually coming from Interstate 94, and will not travel on residential streets (e.g., Summit, Goodrich and Mississippi River Boulevard). The south campus drive (Grand extension) will be the main entrance point to the site. Most, if not all, of the vehicles will use the existing surface lot between the tennis courts and Cretin for layovers. Construction traffic will exit from the site onto Cretin just north of the softball field.
During the three-week site excavation stage, crews will remove an estimated 885 truckloads (15,000 cubic yards) of soil and average 60 loads a day. Trucks leaving the site will turn north or south onto Cretin, and Ryan will post a flagman at the exit.
Truck arrivals and departures will be staggered as much as possible to reduce the amount of time that they have to idle on the site.
