Anderson Parking Facility

Ramp Opens February 16, 2009
About 400 spaces of the Anderson Parking Facility became available for use on February 16, 2009.  The remaining 325 spaces will not be available until April because painting and finishing work on some of the upper levels will require warmer weather to complete.

Parking will be free in the month of February and will necessitate a $35 permit which limits use to that facility in March, April, and May.  Commuter and faculty-staff permits are valid in the ramp throughout the spring semester.  Overnight, hourly and visitor parking will not be available in the ramp during the spring semester.

Crews from Ryan Companies, the architect and contractor for the 725-car ramp, began work in late May 2008.  Some surface-level parking spots were lost temporarily because they were used as part of the construction staging area or by construction workers.

The ramp is named for Lee and Penny Anderson, who made a $60 million gift to the university for construction of a new student center, the ramp and improvements to athletic and recreational facilities.  Lee Anderson is a member of the St. Thomas Board of Trustees.
