McCarthy Gymnasium Expansion

As a result of razing O’Shaughnessy Hall to make way for the Anderson Student Center, St. Thomas will need to relocate a number of its athletics facilities, including the gymnasium located on O’Shaughnessy’s third floor. The university plans to add a recreational gymnasium to the north end of McCarthy Gymnasium on what is known as parking Lot T. No date has been set for the project, which would take several months to complete.
It is also possible that the loss of the O’Shaughnessy pool will accommodated by renovating and adding to the McCarthy swimming pool. Because no final decision has been made about the location of a new pool, there are no definite plans for this project.
