First Year Computer Competency Instructions

Take the Library Skills and the Basic Skills Word Processing components of the Computer Competency
requirement when it is convenient for you!  All you need is a web browser, your UST username, password
and about 25-60 minutes per component, depending on your ability. You can take both components at
one time or complete one component then come back later to complete the other part - it is up to you.

Follow the directions below to get started:

1.  Log into Blackboard (http://blackboard.stthomas.edu)
2.  Click the Community tab 
3.  Type in First Year Computer Competency in the Organizational Search Box
4. When the link for First Year Computer Competency comes up - Do Not click on it. Look at the right side of the screen across from the link there is an enroll button -Click on Enroll.
5.  Click Submit to enter the First Year Computer Competency site.
6.  Once you are in theFirst Year Computer Competency Blackboard site read through the
Introduction then follow the menu choices on the left to begin.
