State Fair FAQ

How do I get to the fairgrounds?

Remember: getting to the fair takes time. Getting to the Education booth takes even more time, so please allow for all travel, and plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your shift begins.

Why do you need my mailing address?

We mail a packet, including an entry ticket, a t-shirt and other materials, to volunteers who are away from campus for the summer or don’t have a UST mailbox.

What if I have problems using the online registration process?

Contact University Relations: (651) 962-6400 or StateFairVol@stthomas.edu.

What is this year’s giveaway?

The best giveaway at the fair of course: a purple tote bag!

Why do Labor Day shifts have orange text on the calendar page?

If you register for a shift during Labor Day weekend (Friday noon-Monday night), you receive one extra State Fair admission ticket.

What should I wear to my shift(s) at the fair?

We are providing a State Fair volunteer t-shirt again this year. Other than that, please wear something that is comfortable - black or khaki pants or shorts. Wear comfortable shoes - you will be moving around the booth.

Who should I call if there's a problem at the booth while I'm working?

During the work week between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., call University Relations, (651) 962-6400.

Outside regular office hours and on the weekends, check the volunteer binders at the booth - back-up numbers are available.
