Since 2000, St. Thomas has hosted a booth at the Minnesota State Fair under the signature Arches in the Education Building on Cosgrove Street.
Each year, more than 200 members of the St. Thomas community have volunteered their time to staff the booth, greeting fair-goers and answering questions about the university.
It's the largest visibility effort the university supports, with thousands of visitors coming by the booth each year.
- Some are alumni, sharing stories of their time at St. Thomas
- Some are parents of first-year students (and a little nervous about leaving their child)
- Some are prospective students, curious about the academic offerings and student life
- And many leave with a St. Thomas-branded giveaway. Yes, it’s a purple tote bag for 2014! Volunteers will hand out 2,500 bags each day at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The booth owes its success to its volunteers. Explore this site for information about being a part of St. Thomas at the Minnesota State Fair.
