Ghislaine BallAssistant Director, Communication Services
Ghislaine has been part of UR for more than eight years. In that time, she has worked with several departments including the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity , the Opus College of Business and the College of Education, Leadership and Counseling to strengthen their marketing presence with attention to online strategies and data-driven decision-making.
A native New Yorker by way of Austin, TX, she has many years of professional marketing communications experience and has worked with a variety of clients from family-owned businesses to international Fortune 500 companies.
She has a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas.
Pete BordenGraphic Designer
A part of the department for six years, Pete designs publications for a variety of academic and non-academic departments including the Alumni office, Development, Opening Doors (the current capital campaign) and the School of Law. He previously worked in graphic design for Concordia University, also in St. Paul. he has both a bachelor's and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Peter BreuchDirector, Communication Services
As part of University Relations since 2001, Peter has worked with many graduate and non-academic offices in support of their marketing communications. As director, he coordinates institutional advertising and manages communications production for the Opening Doors capital campaign. He has a bachelor’s degree in English from St. Olaf College and a master’s in English from Iowa State University. Before coming to St. Thomas, Peter worked in marketing for an international financial services company.
Mary FisherAssistant Director, Communication Services
Since joining the University Relations team in 2005, Mary has worked with the School of Education, the School of Law, the Graduate School of Professional Psychology and the Interprofessional Center for Counseling and Legal Services.
She has a bachelor’s degree in history from Lawrence University, and is pursuing a Master of Business Communications degree at St. Thomas. Previously, Mary worked for a marketing communications and a public relations agency.
Jeff KasimorAssistant Director, Communication Services
Jeff joined University Relations in 2005. His academic clients include the School of Engineering and Graduate English. He also supports the marketing communications efforts of the Development Office and Alumni and Constituent Relations. Jeff earned his bachelor's degree in journalism/public relations and master's degree in business communication from St. Thomas. He previously worked in financial services and school district communications.
Sara KlompCreative Director
Sara supervises four graphic designers and two student interns, sets design standards, systems and procedures for design area; is responsible for art direction of St. Thomas magazine, Opus College of Business' B. magazine and College of Arts and Sciences' Spotlight magazine; designs viewbooks, brochures, posters and ads for undergraduate departments and graduate schools.
Sara previously worked as Publications and Advertising Manager at the College of St. Catherine where she was responsible for all publications; managed three designers, two writers; oversaw publication and advertising budgets; set strategies for programs; worked on capital campaign; designed a variety of publications; redesigned budgeting process; and won several national (CASE) design awards.
She has both her B.F.A. and B. S. from Minnesota State University-Mankato, where she majored in Painting/Design, education with a vocal music minor.
Kate NorlanderAssistant Director, Communication Services
Kate has worked for University Relations since 2003 and for St. Thomas since 1996. Prior to coming to St. Thomas, she worked for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.
Her client list at St. Thomas includes Art History, Catholic Studies and Music. She is also responsible for CAS undergraduate department brochures and newsletters. She edits Perspectives, the magazine for the Center for Catholic Studies, and sits on the editorial board of B. magazine.
She has a B.A. from Macalester College and an M.B.C. from St. Thomas.
Joanne PauleyAssociate Director, Communication Services
A graduate of St. Thomas in journalism/public relations, Joanne has been working in the marketing communications field for 30 years. She worked in client service at public relations, sports marketing, advertising and strategic marketing agencies until 1997 when she made a shift to the nonprofit sector. She joined Fraser, an organization serving children and adults with special needs, as marketing director until she joined UST in 2002.
In her current position, she works with Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, the School of Social Work, International Admissions and coordinates the St. Thomas presence at the Minnesota State Fair.
Jo RuthGraphic Designer
Jo has worked at St. Thomas for 13 years. She started on the Minneapolis campus as a graphic designer for the former Graduate School of Business in 1997, and transferred to University Relations in 2003. Her clients include the School of Education, the Graduate School of Professional Psychology, the School of Social Work, and the Gainey Conference Center.
She previously worked as an art director at Rosemout inc. in Eden Prairie, MN, as a graphic designer in the public relations department of a hospital, and freelanced for several design agencies in the Twin Cities.
Jo has her Bachelor of Art degree in Art from the University of Northern Iowa.
