Homepage Visibility

The university’s homepage provides a high-visibility venue to promote St. Thomas and its events and news. Campus photographers showcase some of their best work, and university news and events are highlighted with linked ads.

The Big Picture

Occasionally major institutional news will warrant taking over the large image area of the home page. This space is not currently open for requests. Its use is determined by a cross-departmental group representing the main communication offices on campus, including University Relations and IRT.

Homepage Ads

Please note: With aT4 publishing freeze happening Jan. 26-Feb. 2, 2016, the homepage coupons posted on Jan. 25 will last throughout that week. After the brand launch, events scheduled through 25 Live may be featured on the homepage by clicking "consider for homepage event listing" in the scheduling process. The guidelines for consideration in that process are the same as below.

All requests are reviewed according to the following guidelines. Please consider them before submitting your news or event.

  1. If promoting an event, it must be open to the public.
  2. The ad must link to a site on the stthomas.edu domain.
  3. The supporting website must have accurate and sufficient information about the topic. A news/events site within your department's website is an excellent option.
  4. Linking to PDFs, MS Office documents or images is not allowed.
  5. Must have an external audience or range of interest broad enough to warrant homepage real estate.
  6. No student club advertisements.
  7. Coupons for recruiting are limited to special events, not regularly recurring departmental open houses or informational sessions.
  8. The event or news must reflect current university and presidential initiatives and/or goals.
  9. Unscheduled use of ads for dissemination of emergency information is permissible without regard to the above or previously scheduled ads.
  10. If an event is part of a larger series, the larger series will get an homepage ad, not the individual event.
