ThreeSixty Scholarship

Application Information

The University of St. Thomas awards one full-tuition scholarship annually to an entering first- year student who at minimum completed a ThreeSixty Journalism summer camp and intends to study communication and journalism starting in fall 2017. Preference is given to candidates who will contribute diversity to St. Thomas and its Communication and Journalism Department. The award is renewable for three more years.

Applicants must:

  • be high school seniors during the 2016-2017 school year
  • have completed a ThreeSixty Journalism summer camp beyond a one-week summer College Essay Boot Camp
  • apply and be accepted to attend St. Thomas as an undergraduate in the fall of 2017
  • demonstrate financial need based upon the results of the 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The university will award one student a scholarship equal to full tuition for one year at the University of St. Thomas. Scholarships and grants from other sources, including federal, state and St. Thomas funds, will be considered part of the total tuition award. The scholarship recipient must continue to express an academic interest in the field of communication and journalism and officially declare a major in the department of Communications and Journalism by the end of their second year at St. Thomas. In addition, the recipient is expected to be active in a journalism or communication activity on campus, such as the TommieMedia student news service or the Communication Club, volunteer with ThreeSixty Journalism at least five hours per month and to periodically represent the ThreeSixty program at events.

Recipients must maintain a 2.7 institutional GPA and annually submit a FAFSA to renew their scholarship. The scholarship may be received for up to eight semesters, until graduation, or until the university has defrayed the cost of 132 credits, whichever comes first.

Application Process

Students who meet the scholarship eligibility requirements listed above will be invited to submit an online scholarship application and essay.
