For 23 years, the Broadcast Journalist Series has welcomed accomplished journalists and correspondents to Minnesota for a 24-hour residency. These exciting national reporters and correspondents provide insights on their craft and the people and events that have shaped their careers, in one of the longest-running journalist residence programs in public radio. Each session is recorded for broadcast on MPR News. Hosted by MPR's Tom Weber, all events take place at the University of St. Thomas O'Shaughnessy Education Center.

On September 25th, we welcome April Ryan.  White House Correspondent April Ryan has a unique vantage point as the only black female reporter covering urban issues from the White House, a position she has held since the Clinton era and that has offered her unusual insight into the racial sensitivities, issues, and attendant political struggles of our nation’s recent presidents. April is the author of the award-winning book The Presidency in Black and White.
