Minnesota College Championships (February 11-12, 2006)

The University of St. Thomas Nordic Ski Team competed in the NCAA Qualifier #4 (also known as the Minnesota College Championships) at St. John's University.  The small, albeit hardy, group of Tommie skiers raced in what was the team's first official race against varsity ski programs.  Though the competition was stiff, the Tommie skiers did well.  In every one of the three events over the two-day race (Men's 10K classic, Women's 10K skate, Men's 15K skate) at least one or two skiers beat some of their counterparts on the varsity ski programs.  It was certainly a difficult race, so great job to everyone who braved the weather to compete!  Special thanks to the teams from St. John's, St. Ben's, St. Olaf, Gustavus Adolphus, Macalester, Finlandia, St. Cloud, and all the other teams that raced against us!
