Professor Craig currently teaches Visual Communication, Graphic Design Studio, Media Structure and Power, and Society, Culture and the Media.

Education:
B.A., M.A., Ph.D., University of Iowa

Professional experience:
Feature and science writing; freelance graphic designer; judge of newspaper and magazine design and typography for the magazine and press associations of Iowa, Minnesota, Tennessee and Texas.

Scholarship and service:
Professor Craig has published research in political communication, the history of literary journalism, the history of visual communication and advertising, and images of African-Americans in advertising and new communication technologies.  He has taught at the University of Iowa, Dublin City University, the University of Minnesota, Marquette University, City University of London, Syracuse University and the University of Ulster in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.  He is past head of the Visual Communication Division of the International Communication Association.

At UST:
Professor Craig joined UST in 1994.  During January terms, he has offered the department's Visual Communication course in England, Scotland, Ireland and the Netherlands.  He currently conducts it in Italy.
