Typical Careers
Students graduating in CISC are prepared to make contributions in many fields. Here are some of the areas our graduates go into:
- computer software development
- computer user support
- applications analysis
- departments within the organization to function as the departmental computer expert
- others with strengths in statistics may pursue positions in medical or other fields where testing and reliability are important
- teaching computer and related topics in high schools where there is a growing demand
- pursuit of advanced degrees in computer science, computer software engineering, management information systems, and statistics
While it is true that some low level computer coding jobs have moved overseas, there continues to be a high demand for our graduates. Graduating from St. Thomas means that you have much more well rounded education and have been taught how to effectively communicate. These are traits are what the employers of our graduates value.
