Senior Danielle Webb received a grant for summer research entitled, "Indirect Photodegradation of Select Pesticides and Pharmaceuticals in the St. Louis River Estuary: Impact of Dissolved Organic Matter Variability on Photolysis Rates".  She will work with faculty member Kris Wammer to addresses "the degradation of the pesticide atrazine and pharmaceuticals carbamazepine, fluoxetine, and sulfamethoxazole through the process of indirect photodegradation in samples mimicking environmental waters."

The work is supported by the Minnesota Chromatography Forum to encourage undergraduates to become involved in all aspects of a scientific research that involves chromatographic separation.
